StudX Seller Policy

Effective Date: August 12, 2026

This Seller Policy establishes the requirements and responsibilities for users who sell goods or services through StudX.

This Policy supplements the Horizon Synergy Terms of Service and StudX Acceptable Use Policy.

1. Seller Eligibility

StudX is primarily intended for students.

Students from different educational institutions may participate, provided they meet StudX's eligibility and verification requirements.

StudX may permit limited access to non-student users, including viewing or other platform functionality, without necessarily allowing those users to operate as sellers.

StudX may expand eligibility or introduce additional communities in the future.

2. Seller Verification

StudX may use multiple methods to verify student eligibility and seller identity.

Depending on the circumstances, verification may include:

  • Institutional student email verification.
  • Student cards.
  • Proof of registration.
  • Other appropriate evidence of student status.
  • Identity documentation.
  • Banking information.
  • Bank-account verification.
  • Other information required by StudX or its payment providers.

Possessing a student email address is not necessarily required where alternative documentation can establish student status.

Sellers must provide accurate information and cooperate with reasonable verification requests.

3. Payout Eligibility

Sellers must complete the verification process required by StudX and its payment providers before receiving marketplace payouts.

StudX may require additional information or verification where necessary to comply with payment-provider requirements, prevent fraud, or satisfy legal or regulatory obligations.

StudX may delay or restrict payouts where verification is incomplete or where a transaction is subject to a legitimate dispute, refund, investigation, or other restriction.

4. Seller Responsibilities

Sellers are responsible for:

  • Accurately describing their goods or services.
  • Providing truthful photographs and information.
  • Setting accurate prices.
  • Maintaining availability information.
  • Responding to orders within a reasonable period.
  • Accepting or declining orders accurately.
  • Fulfilling accepted orders.
  • Communicating appropriately with buyers.
  • Complying with applicable laws.
  • Complying with StudX policies.
  • Providing goods or services that correspond reasonably to their listings.

Sellers are responsible for the legality, safety, quality, and suitability of goods and services they provide unless otherwise expressly stated by StudX.

5. Services

Sellers may offer lawful services through StudX, including services such as tutoring, personal services, creative services, and other legitimate student-oriented services.

Sellers offering services are responsible for:

  • Clearly describing the service.
  • Stating relevant limitations or requirements.
  • Delivering the agreed service.
  • Maintaining appropriate qualifications where a service legally requires them.
  • Complying with applicable professional, safety, and regulatory requirements.

StudX does not automatically verify the professional qualifications of every service provider unless specifically stated.

6. Orders

A buyer may purchase an item or service directly, add items to a cart, or communicate with the seller where StudX provides that functionality.

Payment does not necessarily mean that an order has been accepted.

The seller may accept or decline an order in accordance with the platform's transaction process.

Once accepted, the seller is expected to fulfil the order unless circumstances prevent fulfilment.

7. Cancellations

A seller may cancel an order where appropriate.

Repeated, excessive, or unjustified seller cancellations may result in:

  • Warnings.
  • Cancellation-related fees.
  • Reduced platform privileges.
  • Temporary suspension.
  • Permanent account termination.

Where a seller cancels an accepted order, the buyer may generally be entitled to a refund in accordance with the StudX Returns, Refunds & Disputes Policy.

8. StudX Commission

StudX may charge sellers a commission on completed transactions.

The applicable commission will be disclosed to the seller as part of the transaction.

StudX's current standard commission is 10%, subject to change where permitted by the applicable terms and platform disclosures.

Additional fees or deductions may apply in circumstances such as materially misleading listings, cancellations, disputes, or other policy violations where permitted by the applicable policies.

9. Seller Payouts

After a transaction has been completed or otherwise becomes eligible for settlement, the seller may receive the applicable seller proceeds after StudX's commission and other applicable deductions.

Buyer confirmation may make a transaction eligible for payout, provided that:

  • Required seller verification has been completed.
  • No valid dispute or refund restriction applies.
  • The transaction satisfies the applicable payment-provider requirements.

StudX may use third-party payment providers to process transactions and payouts.

Actual settlement timing may depend on the payment provider.

10. Seller Account Restrictions

StudX may restrict or suspend a seller where there is evidence of:

  • Fraud.
  • Repeated failed fulfilment.
  • Repeated cancellations.
  • Materially misleading listings.
  • Prohibited goods or services.
  • Unsafe conduct.
  • Abuse or harassment.
  • Payment manipulation.
  • Repeated buyer complaints.
  • Attempts to circumvent platform controls.

Serious violations may result in immediate termination.
